Fit Slim

Sushi may be the most healthy thing you can eat!

The rice is wrapped in veggies and fish.

It's delicious, but what makes it even better?

All of those vitamins A, C & E that are packed into each piece make for a nutritious meal with little caloric or fat content--perfect if your diet needs some adjusting because let's face it: processed foods aren't always good...

If you are on a low-carb diet, you can remove the rice or eat straight fish.

But there is nothing wrong to eat when you are on a cheat day.

One way or the other, you still need carbs to keep it all balanced.

Sushi is a delicious, healthful dish that will make your dinner table stand out.

It's made from many ingredients and flavors to define what kind you are eating-basic or complex?

A small complete meal

Sushi contains protein, carbohydrates, and of course, a good source of fats that makes a perfect health balance.

If you`re not making sushi at home, you`re missing out on a delicious diet-friendly meal.

A sushi is a piece of fish wrapped in rice and topped with vegetables.

The most popular types are Nigirizushi ( nigiri ), Temaki Hand Rolls, Makimono rolls and/or California roll.

Ready to make your own authentic Sushi food?

A little bit of everything can go a long way when it comes to making your own sushi, but here is the secret: soy sauce for dipping as it compliments the whole sushi elements.

The soy sauce provide saltiness in which can be added to other flavor profiles like spam musubi.

Here the list you are going to need:

Bamboo rolling mat

Sushi rice (short or medium grain)

Nori (squares of roasted seaweed)

Imitation crab meat

Rice vinegar

Cucumber

Soy sauce

Avocado

Wasabi

Sugar

Salt

How to make a sushi

  • Cook the 1 cup of rice according to the package directions as it will good for 2-3 people.

  • In a small saucepan, mix a tablespoon of vinegar, 1/4 tablespoons of sugar and a pinch of salt.

  • Heat the mixture briefly until the sugar is dissolves.

  • Peel and cut the cucumber and avocado into long, thin strips about 1/4 inch in diameter..

  • When the rice is cooked, remove it from heat and slowly add the vinegar mixture.

  • The rice should be slightly moist and sticky, but not wet or soft.

  • Once the rice and vinegar have cooled down, you are ready to go.

  • Place the bamboo mat horizontally in front of you (the bamboo sticks should go left and right).

  • Take a sheet of nori and place it on the rolled mat.

  • Place a layer of rice on the nori, covering about 3/4 of it.

The portion of nori not covered with rice will keep the roll closed (think of a strip of glue on the envelope).

  • Place a strip of avocado and a strip of cucumber on top of the rice and drizzle with the crab meat.

  • Now wet your fingers with cold water and soak the open part of the nori.

  • Gently roll the sushi onto the rug, starting from the rice side and rolling (don't roll the rug into it, silly).

If that sounds complicated, don't worry. It's as simple as rolling your sleeping bag or beach towel

  • Take the resulting roll and cut it into bite-sized pieces, usually 6 per roll.

  • If you cannot cut the reel without damaging it, try submerging the knife in the water between the cuts.

  • Distribute the pieces evenly and they will look like small multi-colored discs.

  • Serve with wasabi and soy sauce.

Since it is a very simple and lightly flavored product, the many ingredients added to it really determine the taste of a delicious sushi.
